Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required
• Preferred Experience:
• Charge nurse experience
• Teaching and community hospital settings
• Certifications Required:
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• PALS
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Charting System: Epic (must have experience within the last 12 months; otherwise, 10 additional unbillable orientation hours will be added)
• Locals: Accepted at same rate
  

Unit & Facility Details

• Facility Type: 100-bed hospital
• Unit Size: 6 beds
• Daily Census: ~5 patients
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Patient Diagnoses: Medical, Surgical, Cardiac (Adult); occasional pediatric medical cases
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (can be 1:3 for low acuity patients)
• Charting System: Epic
• Interdisciplinary Support: PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response, Transportation, Interpretation Services
  
  

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• IV Therapy: Central/PICC line care, arterial line management, blood product administration
• Respiratory: Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tube assistance, ABG interpretation
• Cardiac: Dysrhythmia recognition/management, cardiac/vasoactive drip titration, emergency meds
• Neuro: Stroke/CVA management, post-neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury, TBI
• Renal: Acute/chronic renal failure
• Endocrine: IV insulin protocols
• Other: Infection prevention, wound care, phlebotomy, surgical drains, multisystem organ failure
