• Supports and works with the Nurse Manager of a unit or service.

• Leads daily staff activities and participates in performance reviews and coaching.
• Ensures staff deliver quality care by following policies and monitoring outcomes.
• Builds teamwork with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.

• Supports nurse manager and nurse leaders; acts as resource and steps in when needed.
• Helps with budget planning and improving operations to reduce waste.

• Builds a healthy, safe, and supportive workplace for staff retention and recruitment.
• Promotes high clinical standards and ethical practice.
• Participates in change management and encourages curiosity and learning.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research

• Supports evidence-based nursing and quality improvement projects.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred (if BSN not in Nursing, MSN must be nursing).

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse license (single-state or compact).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor or Provisional certification.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience required.

Skills

• Strong verbal, written communication and relationship-building skills.
• Interested in developing nursing leadership and coaching others.
• Eager to learn nursing management, healthcare finance, and operational skills.
• Supports shared governance and quality, safe care based on evidence.
• Understands risk management, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
