WCCH ER is a 14 bed ER with a Fast Track area to accommodate up to 8 patients. We are Certified as a Stroke Ready Facility with The Joint Commission. The ER nurse patient ration is 1:4. The ER is staffed with Nurse Techs, Monitor Techs, and RNs. We believe in a work life balance with our employees while providing our community the care they need. Our department offers preferred scheduling to our employees. The culture of the ER is open communication, empowering staff to collaborate and be part of decision to achieve the goals as a team and department. We are focused on providing safe, compassionate quality care to each of our patients. We are looking for positive team members who share the same vision.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

· Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

· Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

· Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient

· Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

· Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

· Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

· Ability to float to various clinical areas where qualified and competent.

What we're looking for: Applicants should have a current VA or compact RN license.

Additional requirements include:

· At least one year of previous experience in ER as a RN strongly preferred.

· Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

· ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.

· Handle with Care within one year of hire.

· Conscious Sedation competency completion within 90 days of hire.

· Ability to regularly accept on-call assignments and ability to report to the hospital within 30 mins of notification.
