Position Description

Private Duty Nurse (RN) – Family-Centered Home Care

Anaheim Hills, CA (home-based care) • Serving Orange County & Inland Empire

Full-time

$35–$42/hr (DOE) + training provided

About the Role

We’re looking for compassionate and skilled nurses to join our close-knit care team and provide one-on-one home care for a 23-year-old patient with complex medical needs. This is a long-term, stable position with consistent hours and the opportunity to make a true difference in a young adult’s daily life.

You won’t just be “another nurse on rotation”—you’ll become part of a supportive family and build a meaningful nurse–patient bond.

✅ Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily tracheostomy care & suctioning (including emergency airway management)
  • Administer medications via G-tube
  • Perform DDAVP (vasopressin) injections (2x daily, subcutaneous)
  • Run nebulizer treatments (Albuterol)
  • Monitor sodium balance (i-STAT/CHEM8+) & chart fluid intake/output
  • Maintain skin integrity (barrier creams, routine checks)
  • Assist with safe transfers/lifts (~105 lbs)
  • Support with ADLs (dressing, hygiene, oral care, skincare)
  • Encourage engaging activities: music, reading, light exercise, community outings
  • Document/chart accurately and communicate with family & care team

Schedule

  • Primary shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM daily
  • Additional evening & weekend shifts available

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • Active California RN license
  • Experience with trach & G-tube care
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to safely transfer/lift up to ~105 lbs
  • Compassionate, patient, family-centered approach

Preferred (not required – training available):

  • Experience with DDAVP injections, seizure management, fluid balance protocols
  • Pediatric or young adult complex care experience
  • Comfort with feeding pumps, i-STAT analyzer, pulse oximetry
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
