Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Diagnostic Radiology (Outpatient)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Diagnostic Radiology team in our outpatient center in White Plains, NY. The RN will play a key role in ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after radiological procedures such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology exams. This is a fast-paced environment focused on high-quality care and excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures in an outpatient setting.
- Perform pre-procedure assessments, including history taking, medication reconciliation, and IV insertion when required.
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide post-procedure care and instructions.
- Administer medications, including contrast agents and sedation (as per protocols and certifications).
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, follow-up care, and any potential side effects or complications.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
- Follow all safety protocols related to radiation, infection control, and patient care.
- Respond to emergency situations in the radiology suite (e.g., contrast reactions, cardiac events).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
Qualifications:
- Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License – required
- BLS and ACLS certification – required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience – radiology, emergency, or critical care preferred
- Prior experience in radiology or procedural nursing strongly preferred
- Strong IV and phlebotomy skills
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), PACS, and radiology workflow systems a plus
Work Schedule:
- Day Shift, Monday through Friday
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
- Occasional flexibility based on patient volume
