Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Diagnostic Radiology (Outpatient)

Location: White Plains, NY

Employment Type: Full-Time (Day Shift)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Diagnostic Radiology team in our outpatient center in White Plains, NY. The RN will play a key role in ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after radiological procedures such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology exams. This is a fast-paced environment focused on high-quality care and excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures in an outpatient setting.
  • Perform pre-procedure assessments, including history taking, medication reconciliation, and IV insertion when required.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and provide post-procedure care and instructions.
  • Administer medications, including contrast agents and sedation (as per protocols and certifications).
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures, follow-up care, and any potential side effects or complications.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to radiation, infection control, and patient care.
  • Respond to emergency situations in the radiology suite (e.g., contrast reactions, cardiac events).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License – required
  • BLS and ACLS certification – required
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience – radiology, emergency, or critical care preferred
  • Prior experience in radiology or procedural nursing strongly preferred
  • Strong IV and phlebotomy skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), PACS, and radiology workflow systems a plus

Work Schedule:

  • Day Shift, Monday through Friday
  • No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
  • Occasional flexibility based on patient volume
