Job Summary:

A Labor and Delivery Nurse provides specialized care to expectant mothers throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stages. They work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby during childbirth.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor and delivery.

Administer medications, including pain relief and labor-inducing drugs.

Assist with childbirth procedures, including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.

Provide emotional support and education to mothers and their families.

Coach mothers through labor using breathing and relaxation techniques.

Prepare and maintain delivery rooms and medical equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) – preferred

Experience: 2-3 years of general nursing experience; 2–5 years in labor and delivery preferred.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
