Job Summary:

Join our dynamic and dedicated Labor & Delivery team in Toms River, NJ! We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Labor and Delivery to provide exceptional care during one of the most critical and memorable times in a patient’s life. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume setting with 200–300 births per month and includes both low and high-risk patients.

Qualifications & Certifications:

Required:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN – Beginner
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Preferred:

• AWHONN – Intermediate*
• AWHONN – Advanced*

Key Skills & Experience:

• Labor & Delivery Management:
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Circulate and recover C-sections
• Amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management
• Sterile vaginal exams
• Scrub for C-Section*
• IV Therapy & Emergency Care:
• Start & maintain peripheral IVs
• Blood administration
• Telemetry interpretation*
• Use of rapid response/code teams
• Cardiac monitoring, adult & neonatal arrest

Work Settings:

• Labor & Delivery (low/high-risk)
• Antepartum*
• Mother/Baby
• Community-level experience
• Facility births/month: 200–300*

Fetal & Neonatal Care:

• External/Internal Fetal Monitoring
• IUPC placement & calibration
• APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation
• Thermoregulation, radiant warmers
• Cord care, NAS, newborn hypoglycemia
• Postpartum & Procedural Care:
• Postpartum hemorrhage*
• Couplet care*
• Breastfeeding/lactation support
• Foley cath, fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Wound & episiotomy care

Medication Administration:

• Magnesium sulfate therapy
• Insulin drips*
• Oxytocin, prostaglandins, terbutaline
• Antihypertensives, anticoagulants
• Surgical & Pain Management:
• Assist with D&C, tubal ligation
• Pain management: opioids, PCA use
• Epidural and general anesthesia support

Professional Skills:

• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Vaccine administration
• Infant security banding
• NSTs, clonus, reflex checks
