A full-time Certified School Nurse (CSN) position is available for the upcoming school semester, extending through May 2026, at a K-12 school located in Joliet, IL. This contract role involves providing essential nursing services to support the health and well-being of students across grade levels, particularly those with moderate to severe disabilities and medically fragile conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review student medical records and assessments to create comprehensive health histories for annual and reevaluation meetings.
• Maintain, evaluate, and interpret cumulative health data to meet individualized needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), identifying health-related requirements for related services.
• Plan and deliver direct nursing services, including first aid and emergency care for students and staff.
• Provide instruction and guidance to school personnel regarding student health needs.
• Prepare and submit documentation accurately and on time, including Medicaid billing.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid, active Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations.
• Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educators License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement.
• Preferred experience in pediatric, special needs, or school-based nursing.
• Knowledge of writing and implementing IEPs and medical service plans.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide own transportation for travel to various sites within the district.
