Surgical Services Team Lead *$10,000 Sign-on Bonus + eligible for $350/mo Housing Stipend*

Middle Park Health provides surgical services in Ortho, Spinal, Endoscopic and General Surgical Services in our Granby, Colorado CAH Hospital.

Position Purpose:

The Surgical Services Lead is responsible for direction of patient care in the operative environment. Coordinates day to day clinical and non-clinical activities of the Peri-operative department of Middle Park Health (MPH) including preoperative, interoperative, PACU, postoperative and GI Lab areas. Assists with supervision of both clinical and non-clinical personnel, while coordinating all aspects of surgical patient care at MPMC. Demonstrates and provides leadership competencies for the department.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides leadership of the Surgical Services Department. Position Supervises: Perioperative staff including preoperative, intraoperative, PACU, postoperative, GI lab staff and OR Technician.
  • Assists in supervision of nursing care given to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients within the surgical suite and PACU, according to nursing principles.
  • Assists surgeons in operations through provision of qualified staff; assists with formulating schedule, which provides staff available for all procedures.
  • Assures presence of RN circulator scrub nurse and PACU nurses for all cases.
  • Assists with plans, controls, directs, and coordinates administrative duties to ensure satisfactory functioning of the department and staff.
  • Assists in reporting changes of any type to Surgery staff and also assists with reporting changes to departments affected by the changes (i.e., Pathology, Diagnostic Imaging).
  • Assists with verifying availability of all supplies and specialized equipment required for correct operation of the department. Obtains supplies per PAR levels. Assists with supervising care of OR suite and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility and operational ability of all items.
  • Coordinates with materials management personnel to provide and controls supplies and equipment needed for successful operation of the Surgical Services Department. Directs and delegates control of inventories to ensure proper amounts available.
  • Assists with managing and directing the department’s administrative functions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Colorado. BSN preferred.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days from hire.
  • Current ACLS certification or Basic EKG or Arrhythmia-identification certification preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge in National Certification in specialty Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) and materials management preferred.
  • 2 years of O.R. supervisory experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in surgical nursing preferred.

Status: Full-Time Days

Location: Granby, CO

Compensation: $42.00 - $63.42 DOE + Full-time permanent hire is eligible for $10,000 sign-on bonus & $350/month Housing Stipend for residents of Grand, Jackson or Summit county.
