Rate: $81/hr (Local) and $98/hr. (Travel)

Overview

One of New York City’s premier medical centers is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) with a strong background in cardiovascular surgery and open-heart procedures. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in both scrub and circulating roles, ensuring safe and efficient surgical operations for complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and open-heart procedures
• Perform both scrub and circulating duties as needed in the CVOR
• Support the surgical team with accurate instrument handling, sterile field setup, and intraoperative monitoring
• Initiate and manage IV insertions, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation in compliance with hospital protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active New York State RN License (required)
• Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS (required)
• Experience:
• Strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and open-heart surgical experience
• Proven competency in scrub and circulating functions
• IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation skills
