Advanced Heart Care (5E) is a cardiac progressive care unit that specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary HTN, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart defects, infective endocarditis, post-CABG care, LVAD workup, heart transplant workup, post procedural care for cardiac cath lab, valve replacement and repair.
Only PCU that does sheath pulls after procedures
Long term cardiac medical need planning

- Welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and team members
- Monitor and assess patients with acute or complex conditions, especially cardiac, respiratory, or post-operative cases.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments with precision and care.
- Interpret and respond to telemetry and vital sign data, identifying early signs of patient deterioration.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
- Assist with bedside procedures and respond promptly to emergencies or rapid changes in patient condition.
- Uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
