Our client is currently seeking a School Nurse (RN) around the Allentown, PA area!

Location: Allentown, PA 18103

Duration: 3–4 week contract to start, with potential for extension (Guaranteed until December, could be extended until June)

Position: School Nurse – 1:1 Support for 9th Grade Student (High School)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct medical care and support for a 9th-grade student with complex health needs. This role centers on seizure management, mobility assistance, and daily health monitoring within a school environment.

Student Health Profile

• Dandy-Walker Cyst (enlarged fourth ventricle of the brain)
• Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES)
• Focal motor and tonic-clonic seizures
• Wheelchair user
• Primary concern: frequent, ongoing seizures
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the student's Seizure Action Plan, including emergency response and medication administration
• Distinguish between PNES and epileptic seizures and respond accordingly
• Assist with wheelchair mobility and safe transfers throughout the school
• Monitor vital signs, hydration, and comfort, especially post-seizure
• Collaborate with family, teachers, and staff to ensure coordinated care
  
  

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania
• Experience with pediatric seizure disorders and complex medical needs preferred
• Strong observational skills, calm under pressure, and excellent communication abilities
