Position Description

Seeking a Charge Nurse RN at our Clients Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) to play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while overseeing nursing staff and operations. This position is responsible for coordinating patient flow, managing clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Charge Nurse will also serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, advocating for patient needs and facilitating effective communication. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training new nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Ultimately, the Charge Nurse RN is essential in maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-centered care environment in the ASC.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, providing appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to enhance patient satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or charge nurse role.
  • Clinical assessment abilities, which are essential for evaluating patient conditions and implementing care plans
  • Leadership skills to guide and support nursing staff, ensuring a cohesive team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
  • Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing (CARN) or similar specialty certification.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or similar healthcare setting.
  • Infection control certification preferred.
  • Training in Perioperative settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
