Position Description
This position is with the Compassionate Care Clinic, an independent nonprofit organization located within one of our managed properties. Our company, Quincy Management, provides HR support to Compassionate Care and is managing this recruitment process on their behalf.
ABOUT US:
Compassionate Care is a grant-supported free clinic dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to uninsured adult patients. Compassionate Care Clinic leverages the donated time and expertise of our community, clinicians, and collaborating partners to provide adult patients with primary healthcare, mental healthcare, and educational resources at no cost. In addition to a salaried Medical Director, seventeen volunteer physicians provide care at our clinic.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Registered Nurse/Care Coordinator provides high-level clinic leadership and support for all clinic staff and nursing volunteers.The Care Coordinator ensures the delivery of clinical services and interfaces with key internal and external contacts, including collaborative partners.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform comprehensive clinic planning to identify, assess, implement, and evaluate operations that are consistent in meeting standards of excellence in clinic care
- Lead the fulfillment of policies and procedures, goals, and objectives
- Participate in meetings of clinic staff and volunteers
- Assist with patient care and education
- In conjunction with the Office Manager, ensure that statistical data is maintained in an easily accessible manner
- Work with the Receptionists to schedule physician staffing and patient appointments
- Help the Assistant Nursing Director and Volunteer Coordinator to maintain an adequate volunteer base
- Participate in volunteer orientation and training
- Coordinate follow-up patient care
- Assist the physicians with referrals
- Network with other providers to arrange for services not offered by the Compassionate Care clinic
- Work with electronic medical records and other computer programs needed for clinic operations
- Assist in other activities deemed necessary for clinic operations
COMPETENCIES
- Prefer 2+ years’ experience in clinic or hospital setting
- Current Texas RN license
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead staff
- Excellent knowledge of health care office practices, procedures, and standards
- Ability to take initiative for new responsibilities and projects
- Ability to exercise considerable tact and judgment when working with sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations in a calm manner
- Computer skills
REPORTS TO:
- Medical Director
SALARY:
$36-40 per hour
BENEFITS:
HRA: $500/month
PTO: 10 days
HOURS:
Work hours will include 3 day clinics and 1 evening clinic
Occasional weekend and holiday phone coverage
32 hours per week
