Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. This role involves working across multiple inpatient units—including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Emergency Department (ED) Hold areas—with a strong emphasis on flexibility, critical thinking, and quality patient care.

As a Float RN, you’ll provide support to units with high census or staffing needs. This position is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical experience who enjoys variety and thrives in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult patients (age 25–99)
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy
• Perform patient assessments and document findings in the EMR (EPIC)
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond to changes in cardiac rhythms
• Float between medical-surgical units and ED Hold as scheduled
• Conduct procedures including glucose monitoring, blood draws from central lines, and bladder scanning
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including CNAs/PCTs, unit clerks, and respiratory therapists
• Maintain clear and accurate patient records
• Uphold all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Active RN license in the state of assignment (must be valid at time of submission)
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting
• At least 1 year of recent Med Surg or Telemetry experience
• Certifications (Required):
• Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA)
• Certifications (Preferred):
• CMSRN, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Schedule & Contract Info:

• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts; weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Floating: Required across Med Surg/Tele units and ED Hold as needed
• Call: Not required
• Start Date: Must be able to start within 2 weeks of the offer
• Orientation: 1 day
• Contract Length: Typically 13–42 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Per contract

• Dress Code: Navy blue and white scrubs (solid colors); comfortable footwear
• Transportation: Personal vehicle strongly recommended; public transport may not be available
