Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Overview

Medical Center Hospital is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment. The ICU2 unit is a 20-bed critical care unit with a daily census of approximately 15 patients. Nurses will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill patients with multisystem organ failure, neurological, cardiac, and respiratory conditions.
• Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and vasoactive drips.
• Administer emergency medications and procedural sedation.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response.
  
  

Requirements

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Travel nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC or TCAR
• Completion of 6 hours of stroke education (can be provided)
• EKG course completion (can be provided)
• Willingness to float to MS/Tele and ER for critical care holds
• RTO must be submitted with profile (1 request allowed)
  
  

Preferred

• Experience in Trauma Level II facilities
• Cerner charting system
• Teaching and community hospital experience

• Ventilator management
• Chest tube assistance
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• ICP monitoring, EVD, lumbar drains
• Cardiac drip titration
• Post-neurosurgery and spinal cord injury care
• GI surgery and wound care management
• IV therapy, central/PICC line care
• Emergency response and infection prevention
