Role

This is a full-time or part-time on-site role for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) located in Dix Hills, NY. The LPN will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to residents, ensuring they receive the appropriate medical attention and support. Daily tasks include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, documenting resident progress, and coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The LPN will also engage with residents to maintain a positive and compassionate environment.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
  • Experience administering medications and monitoring vital signs
  • Ability to document resident progress and maintain accurate records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
  • Previous experience in senior living or healthcare is a plus
  • Compassionate and positive demeanor

Duties

  • Safely administer medications and treatments
  • Document medications given, refusals, or missed doses
  • Maintain medication carts and records
  • Support residents with care needs and promote independence
  • Communicate resident/family concerns to leadership
  • Follow safety and infection control practices
  • Participate in team meetings and care planning
  • May serve as shift supervisor or mentor to others

Requirements

  • LPN, LVN, or state/province-specific nursing credential
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (with ongoing training)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous experience with seniors preferred
  • Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care
