Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives and using your medical skills to improve patient outcomes? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full Time, Permanent Operating Room Charge Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional care in the field of orthopedics, working closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care, collaborating with surgeons, and ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Coordination Oversees the daily operations of the OR, including staff assignments, break coverage, and workflow optimization. Acts as a liaison between surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to ensure smooth case flow.
• Staff Supervision Delegates tasks, mentors junior nurses, and ensures compliance with safety and procedural standards. May coordinate education and training for OR staff.
• Patient Care Provides direct nursing care during surgical procedures when needed, including circulating and scrubbing roles.
• Scheduling & Logistics Assists with managing surgical block schedules, coordinating equipment needs, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
• Communication & Collaboration Maintains clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and supports patient safety initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Licensure Active RN license in Connecticut
• Certifications BLS, ACLS
• At least 1–2 years of OR nursing experience
• At least 1 year of leadership experience
• Experience in orthopedics is required
• RN Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is highly desired
