Position Summary:

The LVN/LPN provides compassionate, trauma-informed medical care to children and youth in a shelter setting. This role supports the health and wellness of minors through direct care, medication administration, health screenings, and coordination with medical professionals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, empathetic, and committed to maintaining high standards of care in alignment with agency policies and regulatory guidelines. • Program: Residential Shelter Services
• Salary: $29.59 Hourly (Bi-weekly pay)
• Location: West El Paso, TX
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Work Schedule: Friday - Sunday / 12-hour Shifts
• Travel: Minimal; may include occasional local errands or medical appointments

• Certifications: First aid, CPR, and Emergency behavior intervention training provided

Qualifications Required:

• MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH (Speak, Read, and Write)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum ONE (1) year of nursing experience (pediatric or shelter experience preferred)
• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program, Valid LVN or LPN license in good standing with the state of Texas Board of Nursing, current BLS certifications (PALS preferred), First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention
• Must pass background checks and health screenings
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or vulnerable populations preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to children and youth in accordance with the scope of practice
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records
• Conduct health screenings, assessments, and monitor vital signs
• Document all medical services and interactions in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
• Coordinate with physicians, mental health professionals, and shelter staff to support holistic care
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
• Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations
• Participate in scheduled meetings, training, and team collaboration
• Uphold Compass Connections’ professional and ethical standards of conduct
• Other duties as assigned
