The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for Acute Care provides leadership and operational support during the night shift across multiple Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Critical Care units. Working in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor, the ANM oversees daily operations, ensures high-quality patient care, and fosters a culture of teamwork and accountability. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow in nursing leadership within a supportive environment that emphasizes professional development, clinical excellence, and staff engagement.

• Supports the Nurse Manager as a designee, providing leadership for assigned clinical/business units.
• Engages staff in shared decision-making and promotes patient-centered care and service excellence.
• Serves as a resource for charge nurses and unit staff, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient care delivery.
• Assists with budget development and supports fiscal accountability, resource optimization, and operational performance improvement.
• Accepts additional responsibilities in the Nurse Manager’s absence.

• Fosters a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment that supports staff retention and recruitment.
• Communicates effectively with a diverse workforce and mentors staff for professional growth.
• Holds staff accountable for meeting performance and practice standards.
• Collaborates across departments to ensure smooth care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

• Promotes staff competency and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
• Supports the implementation of clinical practice standards, compliance measures, and organizational goals.
• Partners with Nurse Managers to drive change management initiatives and cultivate innovation in practice.

• Serves as a role model for professional nursing leadership and a mentor for aspiring nurse leaders.
• Pursues continuing education and professional organization involvement to advance leadership, clinical, and financial management knowledge.
• Creates opportunities for staff education, growth, and leadership development.

• Promotes evidence-based practice and supports quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participates in evaluating patient care products and protocols using value analysis.
• Identifies areas for improvement in clinical systems and staff performance, ensuring compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Utilizes data and evidence to guide decision-making for clinical and operational responsibilities.

Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Licensure & Certification: Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. National certification in nursing administration preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience required. Leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
