Sentara Heart Hospital located on the Campus of Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse Traveler for the Advanced Heart Failure Unit!
$70 per hour
Temp Full time Day Shift
Demonstrated experience in cardiac care, including working with patients in telemetry, step-down, or critical care settings.
Proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms, including identification of arrhythmias and understanding their clinical significance.
Solid foundational knowledge of appropriate nursing interventions for various cardiac conditions, including emergency response protocols and medication administration.
Education
Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Certification/Licensure
Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care Cardiac hospital RN experience

The AHFU is a 24-bed high-acuity cardiac care unit specializing in the treatment of patients with:
- Severe heart failure
- Pre- and post-heart transplant care
- Pulmonary hypertension
Clinical Environment & Equipment
- Nurses work with advanced bedside monitoring systems and other high-tech equipment.
- For candidates with previous ICU experience, there are opportunities to titrate intravenous medications based on hemodynamic monitoring.
- The unit thrives on 24/7 consistent communication and intricate interdisciplinary teamwork.
- A strong culture of collaboration and mutual support is essential for success on the AHFU.
- Nurses typically care for 3–4 patients, depending on acuity levels.
