What You'll Do
- 
- Provide direct nursing care and coordination for patients in prenatal, antepartum, postpartum, and general women’s health visits.
 - Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, patient education, and documentation in accordance with Novant Health standards and regulatory requirements.
 - Administer medications and injections, perform phlebotomy, and assist providers with in-office procedures such as Pap smears, colposcopies, biopsies, and minor obstetric interventions.
 - Educate patients regarding prenatal health, contraceptive management, fertility support, menopause care, and overall wellness.
 - Collaborate with physicians and sonographers to review diagnostic findings and ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
 - Serve as a patient advocate by promoting communication, safety, and privacy throughout the care process.
 - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic huddles to support best practices and patient experience goals.
 - Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment in compliance with OSHA and infection control standards.
 - Demonstrate Novant Health’s core values of compassion, diversity, and excellence in every patient and team interaction.
 
 
- Experience:
 - Minimum of one year of experience in Labour & Delivery, High-Risk Obstetrics, or Gynaecology Surgery preferred.
 - Candidates with more than one year of experience in these areas are strongly preferred.
 - Experience in an outpatient OB/GYN or women’s health clinic setting is an asset.
 - 4-Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
 - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
 - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired, or lapsed for five years or more — and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years — successful completion of a Board-approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
 - In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
 
- 
- 
- Licensure/Certification:
 - Current RN licensure in the appropriate state required.
 - Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required.
 - Additional certifications such as Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
 - Excellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills.
 - Ability to function independently while working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
 - Strong patient advocacy and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse patient populations.
 - Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
