The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. We specialize in Cancer Care, Neck & Back Program, Critical Care, Neonatology, CT Cardiac Imaging, Neurology, Electrophysiology, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Emergency Care, Robotic Surgery, Endovascular Surgery, Stroke Care, General Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery, Heart & Vascular Services, Women & Infants Care, Interventional Radiology and Wound Care & Hyperbaric Treatment.
Texas Health Denton is a Joint Commission-accredited Primary (Level II) Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center, a Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence and a Magnet® designated hospital.
Our four-story specialty center for women and infants features 12 labor and delivery beds, 2 C-section suites along with 6 antepartum and 24 postpartum beds. Texas Health Denton is the city’s only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and is the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County. The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.

Position Highlights
- Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N Interstate 35, Denton, TX 76201
- Work Environment: Charge RN for Emergency Room
- Work hours: PRN Mid shift
- Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of our 41 Emergent Care Rooms. Next stop trauma designation!
- Our emergency care nurses, paramedics, employees, and physicians on the medical staff receive continual training in the use of specialized lifesaving equipment and techniques.

- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course 12 Months Req And
- ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course 12 Months Req Or
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Req
- 1 Year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
- 2 years experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
- ED experience strongly preferred
