Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our MedSurg/Orthopedics unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional development
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in MedSurg or Orthopedics nursing
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed
Work Experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
- BSN required
- Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
- Certification (s) as required by specific unit.
- Must meet unit specific care requirements.
- Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.
- Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
- Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift
- Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases
- Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding.
- Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.
- Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
- Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
