  • About Our Unit

Welcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical Unit, serving both adult and occasional pediatric patients. While our primary focus is on adults aged 18 and older, we also provide care for approximately 1–2 pediatric patients per month.

Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of medical and post-operative cases, such as:

  • Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders
  • General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
  • Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax

We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery.

✅ Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements

Certifications Required

  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
  • Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
