Position Description

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) - Anchorage, AK

Department: Nursing

Reports to: Director of Nursing

You’ll lead nursing activities during your shift, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and help shape the standards that keep our facility safe, compliant, and resident-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration

  • Supervise daily nursing operations in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support policy development and ensure nursing manuals are current and followed.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and facility inspections.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of care.

Staff Management

  • Ensure adequate staffing of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs during your shift.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and support team development.
  • Conduct evaluations, manage disciplinary actions fairly, and foster a positive work culture.

Resident Care

  • Conduct rounds, monitor resident conditions, and provide direct care as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and families to develop personalized care plans.
  • Oversee medication administration and treatment schedules.

Safety & Infection Control

  • Promote and enforce safety standards and infection control protocols.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility data security policies.

Qualifications

✅ Education & Experience

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Active RN license in the state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.
