Position Description

Our client, an adult day health center, is looking to hire a full-time Compliance Nurse. The role is 50% compliance and 50% direct care. Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, ideally leading compliance programs. This is a Monday-Friday onsite position split between sites in Acton and Arlington, MA.

Job Overview

The Compliance Nurse is responsible for ensuring compliance standards are met agency-wide per the regulations and requirements of various licensing authorities and payers. The CCN is also responsible for understanding and training staff on changes to clinical requirements; leading agency-wide initiatives and projects; and providing direct care in the programs regularly each week.

Primary Duties

  • Work with program managers to manage nursing schedules, particularly in ensuring nursing coverage across sites; responding to call-outs and working with staff to ensure coverage.
  • Manage annual occurrences such as clinics and health related assessments are scheduled, documented, and records are appropriately maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance, including developing, initiating, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of nursing across the agency.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of issues, and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Report on the operation and progress of compliance efforts on a regular basis.
  • Ongoing implementation and outcomes tracking of the quality assessment and performance improvement program.
  • Work with program managers and the Director of Program Development and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate orientation training, and collateral materials, for new nursing staff as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers, when relevant.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team members to access grants and scholarships.
  • Provision of all nursing services during direct care shifts.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current RN license in MA, which must remain current throughout employment.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a community nursing position, preferably working with the elderly.
  • Demonstrated leadership and significant experience in managing compliance related efforts within a healthcare agency.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
