Position Description

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Manager

Location: Columbus, Ohio, 43210

Contract duration: 13 weeks

Shift:3X12 -hours

Schedule: Days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily patient care operations across 18 OR suites on a 24-hour basis.
  • Plan, develop, and implement short-, mid-, and long-term strategic goals to enhance OR performance and efficiency.
  • Manage, coach, and evaluate the performance of nursing and support staff.
  • Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based standards of practice and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (DPH, TJC, OSHA).
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Monitor outcomes, identify operational challenges, and implement effective solutions.
  • Promote a positive and accountable workplace culture aligned with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain survey readiness and manage departmental budgets, staffing, and performance metrics.
  • Support ongoing professional development and staff retention strategies through recognition and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Current and valid Ohio RN license (required at submission).
  • 3–5 years of clinical and management experience in an OR or acute care setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience in Trauma Level I or II settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR strongly preferred.
  • BLS (AHA) required.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
