UW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a nursing job in MADISON, Wisconsin.

90% FTE, 12 hour day/night rotation shifts, includes every third weekend. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. This position will be working between the Madison and Janesville bases.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN)  to: 

  • Join Our Med Flight Critical Care Transport Team and
  • Be part of our specialized Med Flight team, ready to respond when a critically ill baby or child needs transport to advanced care.
  • Use your expertise in emergency and ICU care, along with life-sustaining Med Flight equipment and the support of a respiratory therapist partner, to safely transport patients—from neonates to teenagers—by ground and air.
  • Work under the guidance of a UW Health attending physician who specializes in transport medicine and pediatric critical care.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience
  • 3 years of neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and/or emergency department experience. Time spent orienting in the role will be considered as relevant experience to meet the minimum work experience requirements. Required

  • Pediatric Critical Care Transport experience including neonates Preferred

Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing requirements Upon Hire Required

  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months Required

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months Required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months Required

  • Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within 6 months Required

  • Certified Flight RN (CFRN), Certified Transport RN (CTRN), or Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) within 18 months Required

  • STABLE Preferred
