Position Description

 

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse Manager to oversee nursing operations within a private practice Colorectal Surgery Group. The ideal candidate will possess both strong clinical and administrative experience. Endoscopy experience is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

Under indirect supervision, the Nurse Manager coordinates all day-to-day management of the personnel and operations that support the delivery of comprehensive health care services in a manner that most satisfies patients and promotes financial stability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manages and coordinates all clinical aspects of patient care at all RCRS outpatient locations, including satellite clinics.

- Works collaboratively with Booking Department to assure provider schedules are maximized, opened in a timely manner and staffing is adequate to accommodate schedules

- Establishes and implements both short and long term organizational goals (with direction from the partners), objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement

- Oversees the supervision of nursing personnel and endo-techs. This includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance

- Recruiting, interviewing and hiring of clinical staff. Maintains Human Resource support for all clinical staff, which includes Bi-weekly payroll, vacation requests, maintaining personnel files and the disciplinary process

- Develops policies/procedures and trains staff accordingly

- Develops and monitors purchases made for the clinical and procedure setting, monitors resource utilization, creates and maintains proactive action plans for shortages in clinical supplies and medications

- Works collaboratively with the Practice Administrator and Managing Partner. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned or required such as staff recognition events

- Maintains clinical competence in all clinic and procedure settings

- Develops and maintains accreditation standards according to AAAHC or similar accreditation board. This includes ongoing QI/QA and reporting to the partners and submitting required reports for accrediting survey as well as State reportable incident reports

- Assists in the maintenance and development of documents and troubleshooting problem areas in the electronic medical record to improve efficiency of use and appropriate clinical documentation

- Manages all equipment/supply/contract needs in clinic and procedure center locations, working towards effective and efficient use of all

- Manages and directs the Infection Control and OSHA coordinator ongoing, to assure standards are met
