Position Description

PreOp/PACU RN – Outpatient Surgical Center – Greater Houston Area

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures in a focused, fast-paced outpatient setting.

Utilize your perioperative expertise to support a smooth surgical experience—preparing patients in PreOp and monitoring recovery in PACU—while working in a team-oriented, cross-trained environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform comprehensive PreOp assessments and prepare patients for surgery
  • Provide post-anesthesia care, monitor vitals, and manage recovery for patients in PACU
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth handoffs and patient safety
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Respond effectively to patient needs and changes in condition
  • Cross-train and rotate between PreOp and PACU as needed
  • Support the center’s culture of high accountability and patient-centered care

What You Need to Have

  • Active RN license in TexasRequired
  • 1+ year of experience in perioperative care, surgical center, orthopedics, or pain management
  • BLS and ACLS Certification – Required
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based, cross-functional environment

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • No on-call, no weekends, and no holidays
