Contract Length: 13 weeks with the option to extend

Hours: 36 hours/week

Pay: $3,000–$3,100/week

Job Summary

Join our dedicated pediatric care team as a Travel PICU Nurse in Albuquerque, NM! You will provide direct patient care for critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity PICU environment. This role is specifically for nurses who live 60+ miles from the facility, offering competitive pay, guaranteed hours, and long-term contract stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Care for PICU patients with ratios 1:1–1:3
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols or physician orders
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care
• Document patient responses, interventions, and progress
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
• Complete population/age-specific education and competency testing

Required Qualifications

• PICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a 12+ bed Pediatric ICU
• Travel nurse experience (at least one 13-week assignment) preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association, American Health & Safety, or Red Cross)
• New Mexico RN license or compact RN license
• Perm address must be at least 60 miles from the facility.
• Team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric CVICU experience
• Epic EMR experience
