Age-Specific Care Requirements:

Performs physical and psychosocial assessment of patients that demonstrates knowledge and consideration of age specific and cultural differences. Modifies nursing care to meet the age specific requirements of the pediatric (3 to 12 years), adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18 to 70 years), and geriatric (71+ years) patients.

Position Summary:

Shift: Days

Job Type: Part Time

Reporting to the Nursing Director, this position utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patient’s needs are met.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of three (3) years acute care/telemetry experience or, equivalent RN skills as described for designated unit

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:

  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA certified)
  • Current CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (within 3 months of hire/ transfer)

  • Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and bloodborne diseases Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
  • Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) Emergency and crisis situations
  • Subject to irregular hours
  • Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
  • Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, and biohazards
