An opportunity is available for a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide one-on-one care in a K-12 educational setting located in Moravia, NY, with surrounding areas considered. This contract position runs through the school year with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to approximately 3:00 PM. The start date is to be determined, beginning no later than May 20, 2026.

Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care to a 1st-grade student in an elementary school setting. The student is non-verbal and requires monitoring and maintenance of a tracheostomy, including suctioning and cleaning. Additional duties involve assisting with activities of daily living such as feeding, and offering academic support. The nurse will also supervise the student when they participate in elective classes outside of their special education classroom. There are no aggressive behavior concerns associated with this assignment.

Key Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Active Registered Nurse license with school nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency in tracheostomy care and suctioning techniques
• Comfort with assisting students during academic and elective activities
• Ability to manage feeding and other ADLs
• Bilingual Spanish skills highly valued to enhance communication and support
