Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum

Work hours: Full Time, 36 Hours; 7:00am – 7:00pm

Antepartum Department Highlights

  • Unit is currently under renovation
  • Level IV Maternal designation
  • Texas Ten Step member

Here’s What You Need

  • Diploma in Nursing or
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One year of Antepartum/Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required and
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and
  • NRPA – Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and
  • IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months required and
  • CPI – Crises Intervention Prevention training within 90 days and maintained annually required

What You Will Do

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
