Overview
We are seeking an Emergency Room RN, also referred to as an E mergency Department RN or Emergency Services RN . The ER RN provides rapid and skilled care to patients who arrive at the hospital seeking emergency medical attention. The ER Nurses are skilled professionals who play a critical role in delivering emergent and urgent care to patients in the emergency department. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed .

- If you have experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit ( ICU ) , Cardiac Care, or Emergency Department, you are encouraged to apply!
- A ssess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly, follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions
- P rovide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain
- I n cases of severe illness or trauma, you may assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions, this can include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care
- M anage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively. remain calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events
- C ommunicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology
- S tay up to date with Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act ( EMTALA ) regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker
- E ducate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
- Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
