A specialized opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) experienced in Operating Room care. This contract role supports a high-volume OR with multidisciplinary adult and select pediatric surgical cases, combining general, orthopedic, and neuro-specialty procedures with advanced surgical technology.

This is a contract nursing opportunity ideal for RNs seeking to expand operative skills in an advanced clinical setting. Interested candidates qualified to practice in Missouri with applicable experience are encouraged to apply promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive perioperative nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Assist in surgical procedures by anticipating tissue planes, managing wound exposure, and providing hemostasis using manual, instrumental, and chemical methods.
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams to optimize positioning, draping, and the use of specialized equipment.
- Uphold aseptic technique and infection control protocols rigorously.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing personnel to ensure seamless surgical readiness.
- Contribute to patient evaluations through discharge, ensuring continuity of care.
- Current RN license valid in Missouri.
- Minimum two years of RNFA experience in General and Orthopedic OR settings; Neuro OR expertise and First Assisting certification preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Proficient with surgical technologies including robotic systems and EPIC EMR.
- Ability to float as needed within the facility.
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
- Approximately 36 hours per week.
- Call responsibilities include one evening per week and one weekend every 4-6 weeks.
