Location: Gilmer County Health Department in Ellijay, GA.
Job Responsibilities
Under broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or
procedures within but not limited to the areas of family planning, women's health, children's health, infectious disease, immunizations, STDs, and TB at the Gilmer and Fannin County Health Departments. Participates in community events and provides evidence-based education on various health promotion topics.
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND one (1) year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification
OR
Two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 2 (HCP191) OR position equivalent.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position. Some positions require pre-employment drug testing in which the applicant who is offered the position will be required to successfully complete.

Job Responsibilities
Under broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or

- Functions as an expanded role nurse providing care consistent with the patient's level of need.
- Promotion and maintenance of the health of the population served.
- Serves as a patient advocate and refers patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated.
- Utilizes an electronic medical record program to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement.
- Administers and dispenses medications and vaccines based on nursing assessments and established nurse protocol in accordance with family planning and immunization protocols.
- Provides education to clients, families, and community partners.
- Incorporates strategies for interacting with persons from diverse backgrounds (e.g. cultural, socioeconomic, education, race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, professional. religious affiliation, and mental or physical capabilities).
- Prepares to respond to public health emergencies as directed.
- Uses individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
