Position Description

Adelphi is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to provide professional nursing services in a facility in Granville County, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will care for adolescents in a structured environment and must be comfortable working independently with direct care staff during part of the shift.

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience in adolescent, pediatric, school, public health, correctional-juvenile, and/or emergency nursing
  • Ability to function independently as the sole medical provider on-site, following established medical protocols
  • Competence with EHR systems and virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams or WebEx)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must attend required orientation (schedule provided upon selection), either in person or online with camera on.
  • Comfortable working in a secure, access-controlled environment
  • Able to work without personal cell phone access during shifts
  • Must comply with facility security protocols and clear-bag policy

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care within the full scope of RN practice for adolescents.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and document patient health status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with direct care staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Utilize telehealth equipment and participate in virtual consultations and meetings.
  • Support health, safety, and wellness in a secure environment.
  • Complete facility orientation and ongoing required training.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory PREA-related training and contractor compliance documentation prior to start.
