BECOME A CRITICAL CARE - RESOURCE POOL REGISTERED NURSE (RN) AT CHKD
Join CHKD as a Critical Care Resource Pool Registered Nurse (RN) and become part of a trusted, high-performing team that supports multiple pediatric critical care units. - Providing developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients.
- Planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Monitoring patient conditions and responding appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Communicating and collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Supporting unit operations and maintaining flexibility to meet staffing needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support patient care and hospital operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work efficiently across multiple clinical settings.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and family-centered practice.
- Current Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact State RN license.
- CPR certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- RN specialty certification preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Patient care environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature extremes.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions related to patient care activities may be expected.
