Position Description

Nurse Manager

Department: Assisted Living

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Assisted Living Program Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall clinical and operational management of the assisted living nursing department. This role ensures high-quality, resident-centered care through effective staff leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, regulatory compliance, and strong communication across care teams and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day nursing department operations, including staffing coverage, scheduling, supervision, and follow-up on complaints or concerns
  • Create, maintain, and manage duty sheets for Resident Service Associates (RSAs) across all shifts
  • Hire, train, evaluate, coach, and discipline RSAs providing direct resident care
  • Coordinate and facilitate Home Health Aide in-service education and training programs
  • Serve as the primary liaison with certified Home Health Agencies to coordinate resident health services
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to support resident-centered care planning
  • Establish workflows that promote effective communication, reporting, and emergency response
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care and maintain consistent communication with healthcare team members
  • Monitor and coordinate resident tray service requests to ensure nutritional and service needs are met
  • Conduct screenings of prospective residents to determine program eligibility
  • Complete or oversee completion of Universal Assessment System (UAS) documentation per regulatory requirements
  • Perform functional assessments for Enriched Housing residents as required

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to assisted living and enriched housing
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and resident dignity
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care and staffing
  • Partner with leadership on continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Experience in assisted living, enriched housing, long-term care, or community-based health services
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, resident assessments, and care planning
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a nurse manager role within assisted living or housing-based healthcare settings
