Position Description

A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Interventional Radiology and Neurology. This contract position is set during the day shift with a structured on-call rotation that includes weeknights, weekends, and holidays, providing a dynamic and challenging work environment for skilled professionals.

Schedule/Hours

  • Day shift
  • On-call rotation, including 2 nights per week and 6 weekends within a 13-week contract period

Qualifications / Desired Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum of 3 years as an RN with at least 1 year of critical care experience
  • Proven cardiovascular intervention experience
  • Experience in interventional neurology required
  • Illinois RN license in good standing
  • Current CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • National Institute Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Successful completion of EKG testing prior to orientation

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and implement patient care plans collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medications and treatments following approved protocols and standards of care
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation meeting system and entity requirements
  • Educate patients and families according to individualized needs and provide support throughout care
  • Engage in departmental performance improvement and clinical governance initiatives
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patients' comprehensive care plans
  • Manage complex patient situations with critical thinking and appropriate delegation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, peer review, and quality improvement activities
