Position Description
This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide specialized care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting. The role involves working with critically ill newborns in a well-equipped unit that supports the highest standards of neonatal nursing care.
Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for neonates requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support, managing IV pumps, and utilizing equipment such as nasal cannulas, bubble CPAP, oscillators, warmers, and isolettes. Accurate and timely documentation using CPN and Meditech systems is required. Flexibility to float to other critical care units such as PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU before staff is necessary, enhancing skills across pediatric critical care areas. The role demands working 3-12 hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays.

Desired Experience And Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in Texas
- Prior experience in NICU nursing essential, familiar with critical neonatal care procedures and equipment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including LVNs, PCTs, and nurse externs
- Proficient in clinical documentation systems such as CPN and Meditech
- Comfortable with floating to related pediatric critical care units as required
