A specialized nursing opportunity is available within a newly established Cardiac Progressive Stepdown Unit located in Overland Park, KS. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to cardiac patients while working in a dynamic and supportive hospital environment. The unit is equipped with advanced technology such as pacemakers and uses Meditech for documentation, ensuring efficient and thorough patient record management.

The unit features 26 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1. Staffing includes charge nurses, bedside nurses, patient care technicians (PCT), and unit secretaries, providing a collaborative team for optimal patient care. The role involves self-scheduling with weekend shifts arranged over a four-week period three weekend day shifts or four weekend night shifts depending on your schedule preference. There is no on-call requirement, and floating opportunities exist to telemetry, medical/surgical, and observation services units.

Key responsibilities include managing cardiac patients post-procedure, titrating IV medications such as cardiac drugs, heparin, and insulin, and adhering to hospital-wide policies and procedures. Candidates must have telemetry experience and advanced skills in cardiac patient management.
