Clinical Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Position Summary:
We are seeking experienced and motivated Registered Nurses for various shifts to join our Operating Room team at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland. As a Clinical Nurse in the OR, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced surgical environment, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver perioperative nursing care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist during procedures.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure safety throughout surgical procedures.
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must matriculate to a BSN program within 1 year of hire with completion attained within 5 years of hire. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year.
• Current Maine RN license (or ability to obtain).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; OR experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
