Registered Nurse – Cardiac Med/Surg Unit (New Graduate Opportunity)
Location: Biddeford, ME

Position Summary:
Make a difference every day. MaineHealth is seeking Registered Nurses to join our Cardiac Medical/Surgical Unit at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality care in a collaborative environment while advancing your nursing career.
The Cardiac Medical/Surgical Unit at Maine Medical Center – Biddeford is a 40 Bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) unit providing step-down level care for patients no longer needing full ICU level care offering a concentration of post-cardiac procedure and cardiac patients.
NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM (NRP):
- New graduate RNs and RNs with less than 1 year of experience from date of licensure, accepting a position you are automatically enrolled in our yearlong nurse residency program.
- The NRP provides guidance and support to new nurses starting their careers.
- Meet monthly to help with the transition of becoming a professional RN for training, continued learning, group exercises and more.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS.
- Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.
