Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool

Location: Biddeford, ME
Organization: MaineHealth – Maine Medical Center
Schedule: Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem
Shift: Day/Night

 

Join Our Team at MaineHealth! Are you a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse looking for flexibility and variety in your work? MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Biddeford is seeking dedicated RNs to join our Float Pool team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple units, gaining diverse experience while making a meaningful impact on patient care. New graduates are welcome to apply!

 

The Nursing Float Pool is the department for Registered Nurses that are seeking a dynamic position with exposure to a broad range of patient acuity levels. The Float Pool offers the unique opportunity to develop expertise in multiple settings and refine core skill sets. Nurses in this department are adaptable to different units, including specialties, which supports flexibility, time-management skills, and critical thinking. 

  • Ability to float between multiple Medical-Surgical Units, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department 
  • 12-hour shifts (7-7); Self-Scheduling
  • Every third or every other weekend rotation options 

 

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. 
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS. 
  • Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role. 
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.
