Job Description And Duties

Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least (1) Permanent, Full-time vacancy to the Supervising Registered Nurse (Safety) classification in Program VII. This position exists under the supervision of the Program Director or designee and under the clinical supervision of the Nurse Administrator or designee.

The incumbent will be responsible for the thorough management and supervision of a structured nursing unit at all hours in a state hospital; tasked with overseeing nursing care and practices within a well structured nursing unit or service; plan, implements, evaluates, and guarantees the continuity of client/patient care; works in collaboration with other disciplines to integrate nursing services into a comprehensive treatment program; instructs, organizes, leads, supervises, and assesses nursing staff; monitors and when needed, assists subordinate personnel in carrying out custody responsibilities.
