If you are passionate about mental health and want to make a measurable difference for adults or adolescents in crisis, these roles are for you.
Adult Unit
Our Inpatient Psychiatry unit is a 24-bed adult unit (18+) with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6. We provide 24/7 diagnostic and therapeutic care for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric challenges, with a clear goal: help patients achieve safety, stabilization, and a sustainable plan for what comes next. Our patients are a mix of voluntary and involuntary admissions, with an average length of stay of about 5-7 days. Most can manage their own activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting), and many are highly engaged in their care. Their conditions are generally well managed with medication, and they are motivated to build coping strategies, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation. You’ll work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that includes social workers based right in the unit, crisis team members, psychiatric physicians, nurses, care managers, and security staff. Together, you’ll create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where patients can begin to rebuild stability and hope.
Adolescent Psychiatric Medicine Unit
In addition, our adolescent medical psychiatry unit holds 6 beds, providing care to adolescents experiencing mental health crises and providing inpatient care serving acute psychiatric and behavioral disorder needs for adolescents ages 12-17 in our community. Our AMP unit is also a multidisciplinary team and have their own therapists, OT, and educator.
Your Role as an Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse:
- Provide therapeutic nursing care in a secure, controlled setting
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and evaluate response to treatment
- Lead and reinforce care plans that support safety, stabilization, and skill-building
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Offer one-on-one support that helps patients feel seen, heard, and respected
Those Who Thrive Here:
- Have a genuine passion for psychiatric nursing and mental health advocacy
- Bring high emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills to every interaction
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a calm, grounded presence—even in crisis
- Are diligent and detail-oriented in documentation, safety checks, and care processes
- Value teamwork and collaborative problem-solving across multiple disciplines
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
