What You’ll Do

Deliver Exceptional, Relationship-Based Care

• Use the nursing process within a Relationship-Based Care framework to create a compassionate, healing environment.
• Partner with patients and families to develop daily goals and individualized plans of care that address clinical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Apply critical thinking to assess patient conditions and confidently communicate recommendations to the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation that supports continuity of care, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
  
  

Educate, Mentor, and Inspire

• Apply adult (and pediatric, when applicable) learning principles to educate patients and families throughout the care journey—from admission through discharge.
• Support and mentor students, new team members, and peers; serve as a preceptor when appropriate.

Experience & Education

• 0–2 years of nursing experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• OR experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Mobility, visual acuity, and manual dexterity required.
• Physical stamina to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient positioning.
  
  

Licensure, Certifications & Clearances

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the facility is located or a valid multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Graduate Nurses must successfully complete the RN licensure examination within six (6) months of hire or within one year of graduation—whichever comes first.
• Temporary Practice Permits (TPP) accepted per policy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required in accordance with AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
• Nurses working under an out-of-state NLC license who establish residency in the facility’s state must apply for in-state licensure within 60 days.
